In perfumery, there are different concentrations of fragrances, each with a specific ratio of essential oils to alcohol, which affects their intensity and duration. The main categories are: Eau de Cologne (EDC), Eau de Toilette (EDT), Eau de Parfum (EDP), and Perfume (or Perfume Extract).
(EDC) Eau de Cologne
Cologne is a light and refreshing fragrance, with the lowest concentration of essential oils, between 3 and 5%, and a lasting time of between 2 and 3 hours.
(EDT) Eau de Toilette
It is a light and refreshing fragrance, with a concentration of essential oils between 5 and 15%, and a duration of between 3 and 5 hours.
(EDP) Eau de Parfum
It is an intense fragrance that lasts longer on the skin. It has a concentration of essential oils, between 15 and 20%, and a duration of between 5 and 8 hours.
Parfum
It is a fragrance with a stronger and longer-lasting aroma, with a concentration of essential oils between 20 and 30%, lasting up to 24 hours.
